Getting started
From a new organisation to your first receipt in four steps. Written for the owner setting things up; each step links to the full guide.
1. Your organisation
Every business on Greyield Labs ERP is an organisation with its own users, records and settings. Greyield Labs creates it and makes you its owner: you hold every permission automatically, need no role, and are the one person who can open Settings → Administration → Organisation. That page shows your Tenant ID, the short code counter staff will type once per device for PIN sign-in, and lets you set the organisation's currency and time zone, which everything else inherits. See Organisation.
2. Sign in
Open the app and sign in with the email and password you were given. Staff can later sign in with just a PIN on a shared device. Both methods and what to do if something goes wrong are in Signing in.
3. Set up the basics
- Locations. Add your shops, branches or depots under Settings → Business → Locations, with an address and, if you like, a logo for each. If you have a single site you can skip this: receipts and stock work organisation-wide. Locations.
- Products. Build your price list under Products: name, unit, price. Receipts can then pick items from it. Managing products.
- Customers. Add your regulars under Customers, or skip this and type names on receipts as you go; a receipt can file a new customer for you. Managing customers.
- Roles. Your organisation starts with no roles, so before adding anyone create at least one under Settings → Administration → Roles, for example a Cashier with
Receipts.ViewandReceipts.Create. Roles. - Team. Add people under Settings → Administration → Users: choose their sign-in method, give them roles and assign them to locations. Users.
- Receipt settings. Under Settings → Features → Receipts choose your label or upload a logo, decide whether receipts record a location and whether anyone signs, add custom fields such as a vehicle number, and on each device set the roll width and run a test print. Receipt settings.
Steps 2 and 3 need the Products and Customers modules. Which modules you have is arranged with Greyield Labs; see Modules, licences and permissions.
4. Issue your first receipt
Open Receipts, press New Receipt, pick the location and customer, add items from your catalogue or type them, capture signatures if you switched them on, and press Issue Receipt. Then print it: on a point-of-sale terminal with a built-in head it prints with one tap; elsewhere you get the print dialog or the share sheet. Receipts work offline too, and anything issued without a connection syncs when you are back online. Issuing a receipt · Printing and reprinting.
