The Settings area
Settings is where you shape the app for yourself and, if you administer the organisation, for everyone else. It is reached from the account menu and is organised into four sections.
Opening Settings
Press the account chip at the bottom of the navigation rail (your initials and name, or just the avatar when the rail is collapsed) and choose Settings. On a desktop screen Settings opens with a second column of sections beside the main rail and lands on Profile. On a phone you first see the list of sections as tappable cards and each page has a back arrow in the top bar.
The four sections
Sections are permission-driven. You only see a section when you hold at least one permission for something inside it, and a section with nothing to show disappears entirely.
| Section | Pages | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| My Settings | Profile, Security (your own sign-in), Appearance, This Device | Everyone. |
| Business | Locations | Anyone with Locations.View. Locations are a platform concept, so no module licence is involved. |
| Features | One page per licensed module that has its own settings. Today that is Receipts. | The module must be licensed and you must hold its View permission (for Receipts, Receipts.View). Changing anything inside needs the module's Configure permission. |
| Administration | Organisation, Roles, Users, Security (everyone's session lifetimes) | Organisation is owner-only. Roles needs Roles.View; Users needs Users.View; Security needs Security.View. |
What is not in Settings
- Your organisation's licensed modules. Which modules you pay for is arranged with Greyield Labs, not switched on in the app. See Modules, licences and permissions.
- Printer setup for a device lives under Settings → Features → Receipts because it belongs to the Receipts module. See Receipt settings.
- Your own password. There is no password change field in the app today. See Profile for what to do instead.
