Receipts overview
The Receipts module issues numbered receipts, prints them on a receipt roll or a full page, keeps working with no connection, and records every copy ever printed.
What a receipt is here
A receipt is an immutable snapshot. Everything it prints is stored on the receipt itself at the moment it is issued: the customer's name, each line's description, unit price and unit label, the location's name and address, the values of any custom fields, the signatures, and the currency. Editing or deleting a customer, product, location or custom field afterwards never changes a receipt that already exists. There is no edit or void for an issued receipt; corrections are made by issuing another receipt. A receipt can be deleted by someone holding Receipts.Delete: it leaves the list and every report, its number stays used (the register shows the gap), printed copies are not recalled, and the audit log records who removed it. See Deleting a receipt.

Numbering
Receipt numbers look like 000001 (six digits at least, growing when the count needs more) and count up per organisation, never skipping and never repeating, even with several devices issuing at once. Receipts issued before October 2026 keep their R- prefix. A number is assigned when the receipt reaches the server. A receipt issued offline prints an offline reference such as KQXM-TVZB instead and receives its number when it syncs, after which both identifiers appear on the receipt and on any reprint. The reference uses only letters that cannot be confused on thermal paper (no I, L, O or U).
Money and time on a receipt
- Totals are always recalculated by the server; the total shown while you type is a preview.
- The total equals the sum of the lines. There is no tax or discount handling in this release, and no payment method is recorded. See Current limitations.
- The currency is snapshotted from the issuing location if it has its own, otherwise from the organisation. Amounts are shown as the currency code followed by the amount, with the decimal places that currency uses.
- Times are shown in your own time zone (or the organisation's), never the device's.

How receipts connect to everything else
Receipts draw on Locations, Customers, Products, Users and the organisation's locale, and feed Reporting. Each link is optional and the module works without any of the other modules. The full account is in How receipts connect.
